Santhosh Suvarna is a middle-aged (44 years old) entrepreneur from Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is believed that he resides in Dubai and used to own one of India’s best Poker Clubs, the Rockets Poker Room, in Bangalore. He is also the co-founder of the Cadillac Casino, located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Goa, a premium hotel in India.
Santhosh Suvarna began playing local Indian tournament poker in 2017. He played in Tournaments like the Deltin Poker Tournament, Baazi Poker Tour, and WPT India. He has played with some of the best poker players and has already represented his country internationally.
In 2020, Santhosh Suvarna debuted at his first international tournament, the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, in Cyprus, Kyrenia. He won his first six-figure cash, $245,000, for finishing 8th in a $75,000 No Limit Hold’em event.
Although Santhosh Suvarna primarily plays live high-stakes tournaments like WSOP and Triton Poker Series, he sometimes also participates in select online casino events connected to his poker partnerships.
Santhosh Suvarna: Notable Finishes and Wins in International Tournament
In October 2022, Suvarna traveled to London for the EPT tournament. He placed second in the £1,716 + 284 No Limit Hold’em Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty, earning £96,700 (about $109,380).
A few months later, in March 2023, he showcased strong skills at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Vietnam in Hoi An. He eventually finished 4th in the $75,000 No Limit Hold’em event for a $628,000 cash prize.
In May 2023, Santhosh Suvarna secured three wins at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Cyprus in Kyrenia.
First, he won $700,000 for coming first in the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em – GG Super Million$ Live Event 1. Then he followed that up with a 4th place finish in the $40,000 No Limit Hold’em – 8-Handed Event 5 for another $457,500 in prize money. Finally, a week later, he finished 2nd in the $ 50,000 No Limit Hold’em – Turbo Event 12 to win $376,000.
In July 2023, Santhosh Suvarna traveled to Las Vegas for his first WSOP tournament, the 54th event. After a strong performance in the $50,000 No Limit Hold’em Bracelet Event 84, he finished 11th place, winning $132,181.
At the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London in August 2023, Suvarna cashed out $371,000 in the $250,000 + 12,500 No Limit Hold’em – Luxon Invitational Event 9. Two months later, he was at the same event, but this time, he was in Monte Carlo. He won over $1.7 million after finishing 3rd in the $125,000 + 7,500 No Limit Hold’em Triton Main Event.
Joining the Group of Bracelet Winners
In November 2023, Santhosh Suvarna showcased his exceptional skills at the WSOP in the Czech Republic. He came 1st in the 50k Bracelet Event 12 to claim his first bracelet.
The Indian poker king has been doing well so far in 2024. In February, he won the EPT €25,000 No Limit Hold’em Event 41 in Paris, which awarded him € 348,860 (about $377,669) in cash.
In June 2024, Suvarna played at the 55th WSOP. He entered the $250,000 No Limit Hold’em Bracelet Event with the mind of a champion as usual.
He played against some tough competitors until he reached the final table. The final lap was a heated heads-up match between him and an American pro, Benjamin Tollerene. He won and got his second WSOP bracelet, plus over $5.4 million.
