Chris Brewer, the Grinder, was born in 1993 and grew up in Vista, a city in San Diego, California, USA. Brewer developed a passion for sports and athletics in his teens. He attended Rancho Buena Vista High School. There, he excelled in track and field events, competing in different races, including 5,000-meter and 1,600-meter, where he placed eighth and first in 2010.
He later moved to the University of Oregon in Eugene to study business. He competed for the Oregon Ducks in the senior team, running tracks and cross-country. But before then, he encountered poker games like Pai Gow Poker, etc.

Brewer was introduced to poker in college, where he began playing in 2012, the same year he competed in the U.S. Olympic trials. He fell in love with the game’s strategic complexities and started dedicating time to studying different types of poker games. Chris cashed out steadily in college and was convinced enough to pursue poker as a career after college. After graduation, he returned to San Diego and continued as a cash game player. Later, he moved to Los Angeles.

Brewer’s Most Notable Career Victories
Chris Brewer often competes at multiple tables per year, hence he is called “The Grinder.” He had his first significant win on December 3, 2020, at the Las Vegas Wynn High Rollers, where he cashed out $134,293 for finishing second in the $10,000 No Limit Texas Holdem event. On December 18, he finished first in the same tournament and event for $108,000.
Brewer worked tirelessly in 2021, competing in 62 tournament events. His efforts resulted in nine six-figure wins that year. He notably won $420,670 at the August Hollywood Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, finishing first in the $50,000 Super High Roller.
In September 2021, he earned $427,500 by winning the $25,000 PGT Poker Masters. Brewer also excelled in online casino high-stakes tournaments.
In 2022, he won eleven six-figure cash prizes, earning nearly half a million in several events, including over $400,000 each in a WSOP and Seminole Hard Rock event. Not settling for these wins, Brewer grinded harder in 2023, participating in 78 events. The First Million
In February, he won his first seven-figure $1,026,159 (€959,520) for finishing first in the Paris EPT €49,000 + 1,000 No Limit Hold ’em Super High Roller event. In June 2023, Chris clinched two WSOP bracelets and his biggest pot at the 54th WSOP. He won the first bracelet plus $5,293,556 in the $250,000 No Limit Hold ’em Super High Roller Shot Clock Bracelet Event. He won the second bracelet in the $10,000 No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship Event. Talk about a prize!
Again, in 2023, Brewer cashed $600,647, $770,000, and $1,450,000 at different events of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in July, August, and October, respectively.
