The Celebrity Poker Tour 2024: Lots of Twists and Turns

The Celebrity Poker Tour 2024 Invitational III kicked off at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 4, 2024. With 79 participants contending for $50,000, the competition was fierce.

Among the contenders were famous faces from different areas, including former NBA stars, comedians, TV personalities, poker pros, and other celebrities. Former online casino games with real money champs were also available, ready to defend their titles and prove they could do it all over again.

Other celebrities in attendance included Alexander “Wolfgang Poker” Seibt, Ethan “Rampage” Yau, and Brad Owen. Sports personalities from the NFL, NBA, UFC, and WBA were present, including Hayes Pullard, Pacman Jones, Jason Verrett, Prince Amukamara, Kenyon Drake, Peyton Barber, Glen Davis, Larry Sanders, Amir Johnson, Aljamain Sterling, and Chris Eubank Jr., who were all about the poker bug!

Content creators Zach Justice, Sean Kelly, Ashley Nocera, and Sofie Dossi also ticked present. Actress Parker McKenna Posey, TV host Nev Schulman, and The Bachelorette star Katie Thurston brought their unique style to the Celebrity Poker Tour 2024.

Sofie Dossi, a performing contortionist who appeared in “America’s Got Talent” in 2016, proved that poker is not only about cards and strategy. Dossi used her impressive flexibility to play the cards with her feet in a signature move. Imagine playing Mississippi Stud Poker with your feet! Truly phenomenal!

Celebrity Poker Tour 2024 Invitational III: Gameplay

The game began with 79 players, nine tables, one studio, and a 100,000 second-chance chip. Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. and NBA Champion Glen “Big Baby” Davis started with solid hands. The players hit dead ends simultaneously, and the final nine secured a $2,000 payout.

Among the survivors was Katie Thurston. She emerged as the chip leader, ahead of one-time champion Qiyu “Nemo” Zhou. After a series of intense battles, Thurston ultimately eliminated the former champion. The field was reduced to four players when Núñez Jr. eliminated Princess Love.

Ultimately, Ethan Yau was eliminated. With three players remaining at the high-stakes table, Thurston’s massive chip lead gave her the confidence to play aggressively. This gave her the upper hand to win against Núñez, who finished second.
